Anthem is a Del Webb master planned community that was voted Best Master Planned Community in America by the National Association of Home Builders in 2001, and the Best Master Planned Community by the Home Builders Association of Central Arizona in 2000 and 2001. This planned suburb is 34 miles north of downtown Phoenix and currently unincorporated, though Phoenix is slated to annex the community by 2020.  It features golf, hiking, mountain views and plenty of recreation in the community and nearby.  Anthem opened in 1998 and now has an estimated population of approximately 40,000 residents.  It was noted as one of the best places to live in Arizona by Phoenix Magazine, and the best place to raise a family by Parenting Magazine in November 2003.
